American Connemara Pony Society Region X

Hi. We have a 2 year old Gelding that needs to be inspected for his registration. When and where is the inspection event this summer?
Thanks. Eva

I was just on the ACPS site to ask where the CA inspection is to be held and when. Then, I noticed that Marynell had posted in 2006 about CA. So, please post here or
let me know when an inspection will be in the West. Also, I was wondering: what
is the current take on whether blue eyed cremes can be registered and will they pass inspection given equal quality to a grey or hard color that will pass inspection.
Thanks,
kathy

Hi Kathy,
Region Ten held an inspection in both 2006 & 2007 so it maybe another year before we have another. I do have two ponies here that I can nominate...just not sure if we have enough ponies in the region this year to hold another one. best, Lisa

Hi Eva,
Inspections for geldings (as non-breeding stock) are considered 'optional'--there is no inspection requirement for registration in our breed.

However, having a gelding inspected is a valuable learning experience and a essential tool for breeders interested in having thier stock evaluated.

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for your responses. So there propbably will not be an inspection this year? Our gelding "Guinness" should have a TFC. How do I go about registering him so he can participate in breed shows in the future? Guinness' "Auntie" Merrylegs has recently started driving--soooo much fun. Guinness' Mother "Gately Princess Fiona" is doing great under saddle. The mother and son look like they will be identical, so I was thinking maybe training them as a "Pair" of driving ponies in the future. Guinness is from Legacy's Dreama. I just want to register everyone properly--I haven't done this before. Thanks so much. Eva

ACPS REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
the above should answer your questions with respect to how to get Guiness registered--at two he is eligible for full registration. Its likely you will need a AI or Breeding certificate from Dreama's owners. Below are the current fees for registration as posted on the ACPS national website.

Connemara Registration Fees – Changes for 2008
All fees double for non-members of ACPS….

TFC for purebred foals of 2008 - $50
Halfbred Registration – ONE TIME FEE - $50
(No longer required to go through the 2-step registration system – the halfbred Connemara will have one registration fee, one form to fill out, one-step to permanent papers)
Transfers – Papers sent to the office within 30 days of sale - $25
Papers sent to the office after 30 days of sale - $35

Name Change - $100 – Registered farm prefixes must be retained with the name

Duplicate Certificate - $50 – Certificates issued only to last recorded owner

Fees are applicable to foals of 2008 and effective to all registrations on July 1, 2008.

Dear Lisa,
Thank you so much for all of your help. I will email Legacy and get the paperwork going for Guinness. I hope you and yours are all well.
Sincerely,
Eva
