About Me:
Hi. My daughter Corrine and I have been loving Connemaras for about a dozen years now. We currently have a Connemara/Welsh Mare named Merrylegs, a Gately Mare named Princess Fiona, and her Legacy Gelding 2 year old named Dreama Guinness.
Merrylegs is a dream pony who goes English and Western, has placed regionally in Endurance and Gymkhana. Merry legs has also placed Hunter Jumper at Del Mar Fair. Merrylegs has recently learned to drive (like a pro). Around here (Elfin Forest--near San Diego), Merrylegs is known as the "snake killer." She stomped the head off a rattler without missing a step or blinking an eye--luckily for everyone, and in front of a crowd. We LOVE her.
Fiona came to us from Legacy when they were in Fresno area. Fi was expecting a Dreama foal, so she just took it easy for a couple of years. After Guinness was taken off the bottle (pun intended), Fiona was trained in Endurance, Western and English . Fiona is an unbelievable Pony. She is always in a good mood, and tries everything. My daughter is taking her to University of Montana Western with her next Fall to have her in their Horsemanship program (and just for company as she is a big huggy bear).
Fiona's little boy is as big as her now. Guinness has been ground trained. He is the fastest little pony ever. We love him like a child and he loves us right back. His color (like the beer) changes color as it matures.
He has gone from a dark dun to a brown and now is black with grey and white popping out. When Guinness is 4 we plan to have him trained at LaCense Natural Horsemanship in Dillon, Montana with Corrine.
We have a "home for life" policy here at Willowsfield. We made one exception for an Imported Irish Connemara Gelding named Seamus. Seamus was so skiddish that we were all afraid of him. We believe he was handled roughly in Ireland before he came to us. Our trainer Carrie fell for him, and he fell for her. After over two years of training together (Seamus even went to Texas with her for training when she relocated), Carrie's husband begged us to sell him to her as a surprise wedding anniversary gift. Well, we are suckers for romance, and we let him go. I guess Carrie wept when he gave her a little white pony toy and a glowing grin. We are so happy for Seamus and for our wonderful friend Carrie.

Hello Eva,
Merry is still at Savvy Stables. I am looking for a closer stable to move her to after her training ends. In the meantime, she is in half-training. It is hard to leave Savvy, it is so laid-back and they make you feel like family there.
