I am now (eeeek) 61 years old. I have started or retrained at least 100 horses. That was then and this is now. I would love to have a puddle jumper, reliable mare to just have a good time on. I would love to go ride in the hills and not worry about my horse's issues. I love raising the foals and bringing my young horses along for the trainers. I don't usually ride the horses in training because I don't want to work that hard. I would love to trade a filly or colt for a laid back broodmare {ACPS…

Congratulations on a new partnership: Kristen Enedy and Tullymore's Mountain Knight. Kristen has been riding Knighty for the past year and has brought him along very well in dressage, trail riding, over fences and a bit of cross country training. Kristen has been eventing her big TBs up through the advanced levels. Who knew that she would fall in love with a 14.1 Connemara stallion.
We will welcome Kristen as a new Connemara owner and member of area X Connemara Society.

Hi all! I love raising babies. It is stressful seeing a mare get ready to foal. My heart is in my throat with worry and my cell phone is in my pocket with my vet's number already dialed. 95% Of the time everything goes well. Sometimes we don't even get to see the big event. We come out to feed in the morning and we are blessed with another horse. When we do get to see the big event - what joy! This wet, little helpless thing gets licked by his mom, cuddled by his owners, eyes blinking and trying…

Hello to everyone here in the ACPS region X!
As I noticed I while back that you have an RSS feed here from ashbrookstud.ie, I just thought I'd intrude very briefly to let you all know that we've launched a brand new design back at the
ranch website, and you may now need to reset your feeds or personal subscriptions in order to be sure to get the latest posts. 'Detective Tennant Roams the Bushveld' (he enjoyed that!) was the last post from the original feed, and there have been three sinc…

Still trying to figure out how this page works ;)
But in the meanwhile, please check photos from
the Clifden Stallion Parade weekend
I'm still trying to figure out what the ponies were called - if you were there and recognize any of them, please let me know!
Oh, and we had stallion inspection in Finland, my little favorite couldn't finish the tests as his rider was injured earlier (riding a New Forest stallion! D'oh!…

Hi all,
Rachel and I are planning on attending the show in June. We would love to bring Willow with us, but we don't own a trailer. (or truck) If anyone from San Diego is going and has room for him we would be very
grateful. Either way Rach and I will be going. We can't wait to see all of the ponies and meet you all!
Thanks, Pam

I learned a way to stop horses chewing wood and trees. Rub Ivory soap bar on the fence or bark of the tree. It stays on through rain for a long time. Cheap, non-toxic and they don't like it. Darian Hall

I love owning a connemara! I finally have the horse/pony of my dreams. I have had so many horses and ponies over the last 5 years. I have loved each but have been waiting for that one that parks its self in my heart. Ophelia is wonderful and funy, talented and clever. I have had her for almost a year now. She has opened up and really come out of her shell. Her latest is bucing when she is being lunged, she never bucked here much until recent. Mary, did she run around and buck there? Well anyway…

I’d like to thank the people that came to our aid in the time of “Oh my gosh we need participants for the M&M show before Aug 1st or we won’t have riding or driving.” After speaking with Joanie Webster and Kathryn Freeman the evening of “What shall we do?”, and deciding on a “calling tree” to get our message out as soon as possible. I got off the phone and had a thought. “I’ll call people who have some of my ponies!” “I’ll tune up some in my own yard.” This should do it, I hoped?!
After an h…

I wrote this the first week Bridey was home, and thought it might fit here.
Bridey is gifted, or cursed, with the 'easy keeper' gene. Anyone who thinks that weight is merely a function of calories in, work done, and body weight alone should come and meet my horses. We have a shetland pony who lives on air and a Thoroughbred who can (and probably should) eat all day. Z is a butterball on 3 pounds, and Farli is lean on 20 pounds, but she is only about twice his weight. Managing these horse…

Wildwych Ophelia arrived at 9:30 pm on Friday the 7th. My daughter lauren and I went down to meet the HUGE tractor trailer truck as there was no way they would get down my muddy road. We were so excited to meet her! When the driver from Nation Wide horse transport opened the door there she was! So cute and a bit smaller then I had thought she would be, but oh so perfect! She was standing quietly in her stall and was so good and careful coming down the ramp. She got right in my trailer. I had bro…

Wildwych Ophelia!!! We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of out first pony from Wildwych Connemaras in Colorado! She finally got her vet check after scheduling and rescheduling as Colorado has had snow and ice like I have! Thom , the vet , tried very hard to find something to get excited about, but he said he just couldn't. She is perfect!! Ophelia is coming three, so my daughter and I will be busy getting her started lightly under saddle and teaching her to pony so she can go out on the trail…
